A normal 4x4 geomagic square: piece areas form the progression 1,2,..,16. The area of the target is 34: a 6×6 square having two holes. As with the squares to follow, it was arrived at through translating an initial algebraic magic square into a geometrical equivalent. I am at a loss to understand the lack of interest in algebraic magic squares shown by magic square buffs in general. Is it not clear that a square such as Lucas’ generalization is worth any number of numerical instances because they are already contained within it?  [Not all at once].
